Nepal flunks in Asiad cricket

KATHMANDU, SEP 24 - Nepal faced an exit from the women's cricket tournament of the ongoing 17th Asian Games ( Asiad ) in Incheon, South Korea after losing to Bangladesh in Wednesday's game.

Nepal was defeated by 81 runs. Bangladesh which elected to bat first made 107 runs in the allotted 20 overs at the loss of four wickets. Nepal was all-out at 15.3 overs making merely 26 runs.
No Nepali batswoman could make runs in two digits except Nei Thapa who collected eight runs. Sita Ranamagar, Eubina Chhetri, Karuna Bhandari and Sonu Khadka each made a single run. In the bowling department, Sita Ranamagar and Rekha Rawal took two wickets each.
Although Nepal was defeated by Thailand in the group matches, it managed to reach the quarter finals after defeating Malaysia.
