Nov 26, 2015- The government has expressed grave concern over the entry of Indian Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel into the Nepali territory and their use of firearms against unarmed Nepali citizens in an incident that took place on Tuesday at Poorbi Tole of Hariharpur VDC in Sunsari district.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that its serious attention has been drawn to the incident that occurred Tuesday at around 6:20 am, 100 meters inside Nepal from India-Nepal No Man's Land at Poorbi Tole of Hariharpur Village Development Committee Ward No. 7 of Sunsari District when four locals namely Ashok Yadav, Naresh Yadav, Manoj Yadav and Saroj Yadav were injured by the bullets fired by SSB personnel in a dispute between them and some individuals.
"This matter has been brought to the attention of the Government of India through Embassy of India in Kathmandu yesterday expressing grave concern over the entry of the SSB personnel into the Nepalese territory and use of firearms against unarmed Nepalese civilians," reads the Foreign Ministry press release.
While urging the Indian authorities to check such actions in future, the Ministry has requested for an early investigation into the incident and strong action against those involved. It has also requested for sharing the findings of the investigation. RSS
