Prohibitory order in Janakpur after violent protests

Sep 2, 2015- The Dhanusha District Administration on Wednesday declared the urban area of Janakpurdham as prohibited zone from 12 in the noon on Wednesday after protesters went berserk.
According to the directive signed by Chief District Officer (CDO) Kali Prasad Parajuli, various places in Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan-4 have been declared a prohibited zone. The areas include Murali Chok to Kadam Chok, from Bhutnath Temple in Smasan Ghat to the District Court, and the street between the Account Controller Office and Inland Revenue Department Office in Uttimpur of the municipality.
Prohibitory order has been issued in the area from 12 pm on Wednesday till further notice. The administration has given the authority to police to open fire as the last resort to control the mob.
Meanwhile, the general strike called by protesters against the proposed seven-state federal set-up entered the 19th day on Wednesday, crippling the normal life due the indefinite strike.
The protesters took to the streets from early morning. They gathered at Murli Chok, Piradi Chok, and New Bus Park, among other major thoroughfares.
The demonstrators intensified their protest from today and did not allow even the motorbikes to ply.
