4 M plus devotees visit Godawari Singhasta Fair

Kathmandu, More than 4 million devotees have visited the 12- year Godawari Sighasta Fair so far being held at Godawari in Lalitpur district, the organisers said.
The one-month fair being organised since August 18 has been attracting visitors from various parts of the country, including the Kathmandu Valley, as it progresses towards the end. 
In view of the increasing visitors, the Fair Main Organising Committee has out in place the system where the visitors could to visit the temple round the clock except for the regular worshipping time, said deputy-coordinator of the Committee, Madhusudan Poudel.
"Visitors can visit the temple here any time except for the morning time from 4 am to 5 and 7 pm to 8:30," shared Poudel.
He added that some 120 security persons were mobilised for the security while 150 local volunteers, 80 scouts and 22 traffic police persons were deployed for management of the fair.
Similarly, surveillance has been stepped up in the area where the fair is taking place besides ensuring the smooth supply of the electricity.
Moreover, a total of 565 stalls have been set up at the site to promote the local produces. The fair which lasts until August 17 is expected to attract around 4.5 million visitors by the end.
