Decisive talks with agitating parties after Tihar: DPM Gachchhadar

Nov 12, 2015- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar has said that decisive talks would be held with the agitating parties after the Tihar festival.
Talking to media persons briefly at Biratnagar Airport today, Minister Gachchhadar said the government was expected to sit for decisive talks with the political parties agitating in the Madhes taking up the constitutional matters after the festival.

"The major concern of the agitating parties is the delineation of federal provinces and the constitutional amendments are necessary to address their demands," he said, adding that the government would move ahead by maintaining understanding with all the political parties towards that end.
The common life in the country including the Tarai has been thrown out of gear due to the agitation continuing for the past three months and it has caused an adverse effect to the nation's economy and the government was effortful to finding a solution to it.
Carving out two separate provinces for Tharus and Madhesis could solve the problem, he added.
Talking about the border obstruction and disruption of the supply of essentials into the country from India, the DPM argued that the bilateral relations have been affected with the obstructions and it should be addressed politically.
He further said the government has already called on the Government of China to resume the Tatopani check point.
Underlining the need of a consensus government along with the participation of the largest party Nepali Congress to enforce the new constitution, Minister Gachchhadar said he was doing his best to convince the Congress to join the CPN-UML headed government. RSS
